A Preview of Evelyn's Icon Series

Epiphany

- The Science of Art, Icon Series

Creation Year : Early 2019

Medium : Oil ,Acrylic, Gold, Golden Paints on Stretched Archival Canvas

Size  : Width 3 ft x Height 4 ft

The painting Epiphany was partially created by a reflection cast on the canvas through the window of the artist's studio at Art Explosions San Francisco in the year 2019.

Also known as "The Orange Skies Day", a climatological event that occurred in the San Francisco Bay Area on September 9th, 2019. A live video of the event from the studio is available on the artist's Facebook Live video section.

Spurring from the idea of heliography, progressively approaching the ancient theories of camera obscura and taking rather generous artistic liberties in description, the artist had then executed very quickly to capture the line and marks that were spontaneously cast. The outline of the cityscape was struck upon the canvas from the stark orange light from the window, thus drawing shadowed dark shapes crisp and clear on the warm yellow canvas that was prepared earlier in 2019.

Using a multi-layered experimental opacity technique whilst utilising different density paints, the painting appears to change under different lenses and lighting. For example, how the painting appears to the naked eye will be in contrast to what the viewer will see behind their camera. A winky and nod to cloud watching, marveling at the constant creation by light from above. The iridescent painting thus glows in a myriad of shimmering lights and lucid shadows when placed with directed lighting.

Glory Be

Victorious, Icon Series

Creation Year :  2022

Medium : Fine Art Oil & Acrylic, Golden Paints on Archival Canvas

Size  : Height 4 Ft x Width 3 Ft

The work is from the Icon Series showcasing medievalist figurative art with traditional Chinese watercolor landscape in the background painted with hues of antique golds.

In the painting a winged lion shows its strength climbing up a mountain victoriously whilst clutching a chess piece-like scepter, resembling the White Tower, glorified by a light source from above, even as one of his eyes appears in squint from the brightness of the heavenly ray. A painting about glory of resilience and triumph against the odds. The iridescent painting glows in a myriad of golden white light when it is placed with directed lighting.

testimonials

"Evelyn is a patient and exciting artist and photographer. When she uses her skills to teach a new student she is supportive, encouraging. She pushes the exploration of new ways to create images and find the magic in light and nature. I am grateful that she took time to teach me more about photography."

David Jenkins (Musician, Los Angeles)

"We have Evelyn's paintings all over our house! We love her work. I've also experienced her art therapy. I didn't know what to expect at first. By the end of the session, I produced a meaningful painting that connected to my emotional state. She had a warm, direct, and non-judgmental approach and I easily felt comfortable throughout the whole session. I loved it!"

Quilet Rarang (Professional Ballet Dancer, Pilates Instructor)

"Evelyn's art therapy is very thoughtful and well organized. She approaches it with understanding and empathy and gently guides you through the experience. There are no wrong answers and no wrong brush strokes! It is a great way to let your mind relax."

Janie Clarke (Recruitment Manager)

"I am so grateful to have been able to experience an Art Movement Workshop with Eve. It was beautiful to see so many people who don't typically paint come out of their comfort zone and be completely open with each other. Doing something out of your comfort zone can be so scary, but Eve creates such a supportive and loving environment, which allows us all to connect in a very special way. What I learned in the workshop will not only have an effect on the way I create, but will also be applied to my life. Thank you Eve for all you do to help others. You are truly a beautiful soul!"

Cassie Stratton (Founder, CSZZLE)

"Hi Eve,

I had so much fun on Saturday. I came to your class not knowing what to expect, but I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone. When I learned there would be popcorn, I was totally "in". I'm so glad I came. Your prompts and guidance; and purposeful lack of guidance  were fantastic - so perfectly timed, entertaining and helpful. Without it being my intention, I came out of the class with a piece of art that is incredibly personal and representative of my current phase in life. Seeing some of the incredible works everyone else came up with was fascinating. I definitely plan to keep coming.

Love & Blessings to You!"

Stacy (Physical Therapist)

"Evelyn is a professional in teaching painting, in her workshop Art of Movement Experience; I was taught a lot about motion in my Art. How to loosen up my wrist to get more precise lines in my paintings. Visually I could see where my mistakes are by looking at the canvas. In this workshop Evelyn also gave some new perspective on motion in Art on how it can be incorporated into a painting. Highly recommend taking classes with Evelyn."

Francisco Jacobo (Student, Artist, Los Angeles)

Evelyn was super welcoming and incredibly sweet! Her passion and knowledge of different art mediums was fascinating and I definitely learned a lot! It was such a relaxing and beautiful experience- I would recommend it to anyone who is interested!

Catherine Okubo (California Lutheran University)

"Eve is absolutely incredible! Her approach to the creative process is so healing and I always look forward to attending her sessions. Eve has the most incredible, giving soul and beautiful energy. Take her workshops!!"

Briana Walden (Artist, Model, Los Angeles)

"I'm suffering from a variety of injuries to my shoulder and knee. Through Art of Movement classes, Eve has taught me extremely useful techniques that are helping to facilitate my healing process that are safe, easy and area specific."

Phillip H Leonard (Founder, Writing On The Walls, Los Angeles)

"Making Art come alive for those who make this experience part of their lives! Learn to see art, fill the world with your colors! "

                       Ames Sheep (Art Hobbyist)

"Evelyn has a great way of teaching simple motions, techniques, and ideas that actually help, and can be practiced throughout the day, without fancy equipment, or even the need to change clothes afterward.  Great for stretches and exercises for the busy working person."

Kris (Baseball Umpire)

"It's a very fun class that dips into a little bit of everything. The environment is relaxing and the price is very affordable."

                       Dominque Christerna (Art Hobbyist)

"Had a lot of fun! This isn't something I normally do bit it didn't matter great people, friendly environment and no pressure or judgement. Just a great couple hours creating with chill vibes. I will go back again one hundred percent!"

                       Josh (Art Hobbyist)

"We met and have known Evelyn since when she was managing an art and decoration services gallery in Park Mall. We are very pleased with the painting, framing and international shipping services we engaged from Evelyn's company, she assisted with our vision for an abstract painting of the Last Supper using the colors that we enjoy at our Ski Lodge Home at Aspen Way during the Fall. Eve flew out to us to add a few finishing touches to the painting when we invited her as our guest and artist in residence at our lodge in Utah. We enjoyed our cross country skiing trip, looking at the beautiful nature here at Salt Lake City during the winter season. We hope she will be further inspired by the great beauty in nature found all over our wonderful United States of America and keep on painting. Our best wishes and God Bless."

Alison & Sige Berge (Patrons, The Aspen Way, Salt Lake City & Singapore)

"I so appreciate your big hearted contribution at ODC. I am also grateful to have you as a student... you bring fresh enthusiasm to every class. Much love."

Augusta Moore (Director, ODC, San Francisco)

"Evelyn has endeared herself to a great many people here in Australia. She is articulate, considerate and socialises well in various situations. Evelyn is an independent thinker and can work without supervision. She meets deadlines with project outcomes that are of a high calibre... who will make an important contribution to any enterprise requiring loyalty, trust, efficiency and quality outcomes."

Abstract Fine Art Photography

Abstract photography is a genre of photography that does not attempt to represent relative depiction of visual reality. Instead, abstract photography focus on elements such as shape, form, color, pattern, and texture to create images that may be derived from real-world objects or scenes but are often highly stylized or manipulated to the point where they become unrecognizable. In abstract photography, the photographer may use techniques such as close-up shots, selective focus, multiple exposures, or camera movement to create images that are more about conveying a mood, emotion, or idea rather than depicting a specific subject. This genre allows for a great deal of creativity and experimentation, as photographers are free to explore different ways of capturing and interpreting the world around them.

An Art Of Movement Experience

Practicing quality, reliable movement through observation, patterns and discovery in all forms of Art for wellness

The Art & Wellness Sessions' core nuclear matrix are as with a nucleus model that is much alike its scientific counterpart, a membrane-enclosed organelle within a cell that "nests" an array of pores, that in its nuclear membrane allows for the selective passage of certain molecules (such as proteins and nucleic acids/ memories, intrinsic relations and habits) into and out of the "nucleus", with the integrity from an autonomous passage of freedom in choice. Much alike the layers of a nucleus, its core function, its catalytic foreign interactions, and residual reactions, the sessions stays organically versatile. These fun art exercises assists the patrons become their own facilitators of recovery, creativity and intellectual growth.

Big Basin Redwoods

Documentary Photography 2023

Nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains just south of San Francisco, Big Basin boasts the distinction of having California's oldest state park, established in 1902. Its verdant expanse covers over 18,000 acres, offering a refuge for ancient redwoods and diverse ecosystems.

The forest's crown jewels are undoubtedly its towering redwoods, primarily coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens). These gentle giants can reach a staggering 300 feet tall and live for millennia, some exceeding 2000 years old.

Big Basin was significantly impacted by the CZU Lightning Complex fires in 2020. The park's resilience and ongoing recovery efforts offer a beacon of hope for the future of this treasured natural sanctuary.

ஸ்ரீ வீரமாகாளியம்மன் கோவில் is a landmark temple located in the southern part of Temasek, Singapura.

The temple is built in the Dravidian style of architecture, with a high gopuram (gateway tower) and a large mandapam (hall of worship) by 1885. The main shrine is dedicated to Kali, and houses a statue of the goddess. There are also shrines dedicated to other Hindu deities, including Ganesha, Murugan, and Shiva. Depictions Kali within the temple show her wearing a garland of skulls and ripping out the insides of demons, and Parvati sharing a peaceful family moments with her sons Ganesha and Murugan.

This temple has also been used to shelter people from air raids during World War II.
